CriticalProductive Journal is an academic journal/magazine located at the critical confluence of culture, arts, architecture, and urbanism. It is dedicated to interrogating the ways in which politics is entangled with spatial and aesthetic production. CriticalProductive’s mission is to mobilize the consciousness and potential of unfinished social movements through the publication of peer-reviewed creative work and scholarship.
We publish innovative research, scholarship, and creative work that is at the forefront of architecture, urbanism, and cultural theory. We welcome essays, creative design work, and visual art.
Journal Sections: Editor / Editorial Collective, Global Briefing, Criticism + Conversation, Black Cities / Americas.

MIT Press launches culture, arts, and architecture journal
The MIT Press is pleased to announce the launch of CriticalProductive, an independent peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the intellectual project of culture, arts and architecture, edited by former USC School of Architecture Dean Milton S. F. Curry. Previously published as a pilot project in 2011 and 2013, this newly reimagined iteration of CriticalProductive will link scholars, designers, artists, and activists to collaboratively address issues related to visual culture, urban space, and cultural identity through creative work and scholarship.
